Cute Sunflower Cupcakes Recipe
How cute are these Sunflower Cupcakes? I love making them and they can be made in no time. They will brighten anyone's day and are perfect for Mother's Day, teachers appreciation day, last day of school, a summer picnic and even graduation parties.
Check out a few sunflower facts that I didn't even know. We have a other fun cupcakes like our peanut and jelly cupcake that are also perfect for summer picnics.
Sunflowers are grown mostly in the Dakotas, however, they are abundant in Kansas also with Sunflower farms that you can visit.
What’s Needed
- Prepared Cupcakes
- Yellow Funfetti Frosting
- Green Decorating Icing Tube
- Brown Jimmie Sprinkles
- Terra Cotta Pots (3in by 3in)
- Leaf Piping Tip
Cupcakes recipe is perfect for any occasion including Mother's Day.
How to Make Sunflower Cupcakes
1. Place piping tip in an icing bag or Ziploc baggie. Add frosting to the bag and start piping little leaf shapes going around the outside of the cupcake. Make sure to lift up after you stop piping each leaf so it gives you a point. Go twice around the outside of the cupcake. Repeat step with the other cupcakes.
2. Spoon brown jimmies into the middle of the cupcakes.
3. With the green icing squeeze a small dot in-between the petal layers to create green leaves. I left some without, but you can put leaves on all of them if you’d like.
4. Place cupcakes inside the pots. If a cupcake is smaller and you’re afraid it’ll sink down to much, then turn an empty cupcake liner upside down and place it in the pot then set the cupcake on top of the bottom of the liner.
5. Serve and Enjoy!
