Jalapeno Cream Cheese Board Recipe
If you are in the TikTok world you have probably heard of butter boards and frosting boards.
They are the new type of grazing board. Well, today I bring a jalapeno popper cream cheese board.
This is a cream cheese spread that is topped with bacon pieces, pickled jalapenos, and of course cheese.
Pair with pretzels, bread, and more for dipping.
Then serve up this tray and let your guest lather their dippers with this super simple cream cheese spread that tastes like a jalapeno popper.
This Jalapeno Cream Cheese Board Is
- Great for parties and events
- Creamy seasoned cream cheese spread on a platter
- Appetizer or snack
- All the flavors of a jalapeno popper with minimal prep
- Delicious Savory flavor
Variations to Recipe
- Season your cream cheese differently if you want. Or leave the cream cheese plain. I find that a little seasoning truly helps to enhance the flavors.
- For the shredded cheese you could even use pepper jack cheese to add more spice to the mixture if you want. I love the sharp cheddar it adds a nice tangy component.
- If you don't want the bacon you can always leave it off.
- Feel free to roast some jalapeno peppers and then dice them up and sprinkle them on top if you don't want to use pickles.
How to soften cream cheese fast?
Leave the cream cheese in the foil wrapper and place in a bowl with warm not hot water. Let it sit for 3-5 minutes. Feel the texture of the cream cheese. If it is not quite softened, repeat the process to speed up the softening of the cream cheese.
How to store leftovers?
If you happen to have some leftovers, simply store them in an airtight container in the fridge. I just scoop it off the board into a bowl. Or if you want to keep it on the board then wrap it up on the board directly. Refrigerating is the key to it.
Prep time: 20 minutes
Total time: 12 hours, ideally

Equipment:
- Board for base
- Rubber Spatula or offset spatula
- Measuring spoons
- Knife
- Cutting board
Ingredients Needed
- Cream Cheese - Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature as it needs to be spreadable.
- Spices - I used minced dried onion and garlic powder for this spread. These two spices work great.
- Cheese - Sharp cheddar cheese or plain cheddar works best.
- Bacon - Now you can buy bacon crumbles or cook up and crumble your own bacon. Either method works.
- Pickled Jalapenos - In the store, you will find them in jars. You can buy them mild, medium, or hot.
- Tomatoes - I used a few tomatoes for garnish on this, feel free to omit them if you don't enjoy tomatoes.
- Dippers - Crackers, chips, bread, and more for dipping in the cream cheese mixture.
How to Make a Jalapeno Cream Cheese Board
Allow the cream cheese to soften to make it easier to mix. Mix the garlic powder and minced onion into the cream cheese. Ideally, let this sit overnight to develop the flavors.
Bring the cream cheese mixture to room temperature. Spread it onto your board of choice with a quick spreading motion to give your board texture.
Sprinkle on your other ingredients (shredded cheddar, bacon pieces, jalapeno pieces) to your liking. Use the wedges to form a flower, if desired.
Place your dippers and crispy crackers on the side.
Enjoy!
Notes:
- It’s ideal to let your cream cheese mixture sit overnight, but if you’re in a hurry, a couple of hours will suffice.
- Feel free to leave out what you don’t like or add something else. This recipe calls for pickled jalapenos, but feel free to use fresh, or roasted if you prefer.
