Let's get crafting!
What’s Needed for Paper Christmas Candles Crafts for Kids
- 12x12 Card Stock Paper
—Red, Yellow, Brown
- Mini Wood Clothespins
- Glue Stick
- Brown Twine
How to Make DIY Christmas Candles
Cut 8 strips about 1 x 12 inch out of the red paper.
Next cut 4 circles about 3 inches in diameter out of the brown paper.
Finally, cut 4 small flames out of the yellow paper, and make sure to leave a little tab on the bottom part of the flames. After you cut them out, fold the little tab down on each flame, and cut 4 pieces of twine about an inch long. Glue each piece of twine onto a flame to resemble a wick.
To make the candles, take 2 red strips of paper and glue two corners together so it looks like half a square. Now fold the bottom strip over the top strip at that glued corner. Then fold the other strip over the one you just did and keep repeating this back and forth until you have a tall accordion style candle. Glue the top piece of the red paper to the piece directly underneath it.
Now glue a clothespin on the bottom of each brown circle. Make sure the opening of the clip is aligned with an edge of the circle.
Glue a red candle to each brown circle, and glue a flame on top of each candle.
Let these dry for 10-20 minutes and then clip on the Christmas tree for pretty, little ornaments.
