Cheeseburger Quesadilla Recipe
My family loves all Mexican food. So I was trying to come up with something a little different. The Cheeseburger Quesadilla recipe is easy and you don’t need to get your hands messy making patties.
All the same burger flavors you love are now sandwiched between two layers of crisp tortillas for a yummy Cheeseburger Quesadilla. Plus, these can also be made in the Air Fryer.

- Ground turkey or ground beef
- Salt
- Ground black pepper
- Onion powder
- Worcestershire sauce
For the sauce:
- Ketchup
- Mustard
- Mayonnaise
- Shredded cheese (I used cheddar, Monterey jack, mozzarella)
- 10 inch tortillas
- *For exact amounts, please see recipe card below.
How to Make a Cheeseburger Quesadilla in a Skillet
On medium high heat, add ground meat mixture to a pan and cook for 7 minutes, stirring often. After 7 minutes, drain meat mixture and return meat to pan.
Add in salt, pepper, onion powder and Worcestershire sauce. Continue cooking about 3-5 minutes until meat is cooked through. Once cooked, remove pan from heat.
In a small bowl, add in ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise. Mix well. Add sauce to pan of meat, gently mix sauce together with meat to coat well.
Take one tortilla, add about 2 tablespoons of cheese, making sure to spread so it layers evenly. Then layer with 3-4 tablespoons of meat mixture.
Make sure it’s as even as you can get it. Add another layer of cheese. Cover with another tortilla.
On a non-stick pan over medium heat, gently place your tortilla, cover pan and allow to grill for 2-3 minutes, gently flip and cook the other side.
Repeat 3 and 4 until quesadillas are finished.
How to Make Air Fryer Quesadillas
Follow steps 1 through 3.
Preheat Air Fryer on 370 for about 3 minutes.
Place parchment paper on bottom.
Take one tortilla and place inside air fryer basket. Add about 2 tablespoons of cheese, making sure to spread so it layers evenly. Then layer with 3-4 tablespoons of meat mixture.
Make sure it’s as even as you can get it. Add another layer of cheese. Cover with another tortilla.
Spray lightly with vegetable oil.
Set air fryer or ninja foodi timer for 4 minutes. If you don't like it real crispy, then set it for less or watch it closely.
Flip over carefully with spatula.
Spray lightly with vegetable oil and place rack on top of shell to hold it in place. (this is so it doesn't fly up into the air fryer fan!)
Set timer for another 3-4 minutes.
If it’s not crispy enough for you, leave in for a couple of extra minutes.
** TIPS: You want to only have to cook it enough for the cheese to melt and ingredients to combine. If the tortillas are browning too fast, lower heat to low.
Once the quesadilla is finished, cut it into four triangles (like a pizza). These are awesome to throw into a Ziploc bag for lunch the next day, or possibly freezer cook. **
