Marble Run Construction Set From National Geographic STEM Collection
One of the things I am always looking for to enrich my grandkids is STEM learning toys and play sets. I love any gift that can entertain them for hours and encourage them to use their brains.
Math/science-focused toys teach skills during play, so they mold children to be more successful and more interested in these subjects as they grow. National Geographic has all kinds of affordable yet invaluable toys involving everything from robotics to rocket science.
The toy I got to play with-- I mean test for review purposes-- 😉 was the Glow-in-the-Dark Marble Run Construction Set from Think Blue Marble. It came in 150 pieces, which I'll break down for you, of course. The set itself provides lots of creative and educational fun. Plus, after the setup, kids can watch their marbles zip around their handy creation.
It's not often that you can find a game or toy where the set up is part of the play experience, but that's exactly what you get with the Marble Run Construction Set. The fun starts, pretty much right out of the box!
Why National Geographic Glow-in-the-Dark Marble Run is an Awesome Gift for Kids
Some of the things I really like about this Marble Run Construction Set have to do with the STEM quality. The set includes a learning guide. The guide teaches physics, motion, and aerodynamics. It also includes experiments for kids to do while constructing the marble run.
Another really neat thing about this particular set is that there are several different colored glass marbles that glow as they zip around the constructed set.
The marbles glow brightly in the dark and the set comes with a compact UV keychain light, which you use to recharge your marbles and help them glow brighter and longer.
The construction set comes with a satisfaction guarantee, so if you don't think it offers high-quality education or fun you can contact the National Geographic Store and they'll make it right.
But the set is solid, it definitely delivers and the pieces fit snugly together so the construction set remains sturdy and solid during play. When it's time to put away, use the included mesh bag and marble pouch for convenient cleanup and storage.
What the National Geographic Glow-in-the-Dark Marble Run 150 Piece Construction Set Comes With
Every 150-piece set includes 30 marbles that glow in five different colors and a keychain UV light for convenient recharging. The construction pieces include 85 clear tubes for a smooth run and 26 action pieces. The action pieces make the play more interesting by adding more kinetics and changes in motion.
All of these pieces fit securely and the 9 sturdy bases also provide security so the whole set doesn't come apart while you play. The set also includes the storage bag and the all-important learning guide with complete instructions.
I found the set to be pretty comprehensive and a lot of fun from start to finish. It's definitely a great gift for boys and girls over 3 years old.

My daughter has this set and we can’t figure out how to get the wheel to fit on the clear white piece that has the yellow rod through it. Could you explain or show?

The kids have always put this together so I can't really answer that question. However, next time they do, I will watch so I can report back to you.
