    Summer is a great time for families to come together and enjoy fun activities together. One popular summer pastime is going camping. Summer camping trips can be a lot of fun particularly if you pick a location that allows swimming and water activities to keep you cool. Here are a few tips to make for a great summer camping trip.

    Prepare for rain before you go. Summers often have a lot of rain that can put a damper on a great camping trip. Bring extra clothes sealed in vacuum bags to protect them from the rain. Bring an umbrella or tarps and rope to create an area outside of your tent to relax when it rains.


    Pack plenty of water for your trip to help keep you hydrated. While many facilities have drinkable water most will offer well water that may not appeal to you or bottled water at a large markup.

    Pack more snacks than you think you need to help keep you comfortable. Swimming and water activities can leave you feeling very hungry and you do not want to run out of snacks while having a good time and need to run into town to restock.

    Use a reflective sunshade to keep the sun from heating up your tent. A reflective emergency blanket folds up small and makes a great sunshade to take on your camping trips. This will reflect the heat out so your tent doesn't get overheated. During the day leaving you miserable at night.
