Air Fryer Hasselback Grilling Cheese Recipe
Spectacular Hasselback-style grilled cheese is a quick snack for the whole family.
Lately, I've been seeing a lot of ads for grilling cheese. In all my years, I had never heard of such a thing.
Grilled cheese, yes. Grilling cheese, no!
So I set out on a mission to find out more about it.
I actually found out quite a bit but then got a little sad thinking I wasn't going to be able to find halloumi cheese readily available.
However, when in doubt...Aldi always seems to have what I'm looking for. 😉
The recipe is very simple, even a novice hostess can handle it.
As a base is a good halloumi cheese.
For the filling, you can use any lightweight cheese, salami, or pepperoni.
The amount and composition of spices can be varied to taste. When choosing soy sauce, give preference to a product with low salt content.
The cheese is prepared in an air fryer.
And while I'm still not sure if it's considered a snack, appetizer, side dish, or main course, I'll just classify it under air-fried grilled cheese.

What is Halloumi Cheese - Halloumi Cheese Origin
Halloumi Cheese is a traditional Cypriot cheese that has become an international favorite due to its unique combination of goat, sheep's, and sometimes cow’s milk that results in a high melting point.
Perfect for grilling or pan-frying.
Halloumi is an incredibly versatile cheese to cook with.
It can go from raw to browned and crispy in a matter of minutes due to its higher-than-typical melting point.
Enjoy it fried, grilled (saganaki style), or even as part of salads – just make sure you try it warm for that ooey-gooey center!
What is a Good Halloumi Cheese Substitute
A good Halloumi cheese substitute is sulguni cheese.
However, you can always use Feta or Mozzarella.
Some dairy-free alternatives are Chicken, Tofu, or Tempeh.
Where to Buy Halloumi Cheese

Aldi has many food items that you can't find anywhere else.
However, traveling across the country in our RV, I was surprised to find that there are states where there is no Aldi. (gasp!)
In that case, you can pick it up at well-stocked supermarkets to specialty stores, and even online from the comfort of your home.
