My mom always makes this for Thanksgiving Eve or Christmas Eve, which are both perfect times for this hearty dish.

It has an amazing balance of sweet and savory flavors with buttery cornbread pieces atop the delicious chili mixture.

Chili Casserole Ingredients

  • Ground beef
  • Small onion, diced
  • Diced tomatoes with green chilies
  • Chili beans
  • Tomato sauce
  • Chili seasoning (I used McCormick)
  • Shredded cheddar jack cheese
  • Pillsbury cornbread swirls

How to Make Chili Cornbread Casserole Recipe

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Spray a 2-quart baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

Brown the ground beef in a large skillet with the onion.

When the meat is cooked, add the diced tomatoes with chilies, chili beans, tomato sauce, and chili seasoning. Stir until all the ingredients are well mixed.
