The mouthwatering Margarita Bark recipe is the perfect tequila candy adult treat for National Margarita Day that can also be used for St. Patrick's Day.

Mouthwatering Margarita Bark Recipe
Candy isn’t just for kids. Take this margarita bark, for example. It features the delicious addition of tequila. That’s right. Tequila.
This candy is actually flavored with real tequila. Best of all, it’s super easy to make.
All you need to do is melt down some candy melts and add tequila, sweetened lime juice, and sugar. You don’t have to be a pro in the kitchen to make this candy.
Best of all, this is something that everyone is going to love. Just make sure to keep it out of reach for little ones.
While this is a great recipe for National Margarita Day, it would also make a great addition to any gift basket and even St. Patrick's Day.

Ingredients

How to make Margarita Bark Tequila Candy

Thus Margarita Bark recipe doesn't say how much of the candy melts to use. It made SO much that I could not spread it thin enough on an 18 x 24 baking pan to consider it bark. It is sickeningly sweet. Most likely 12 oz of each color is too much but I'll probably never try it again. It was going to be part of a gift but I'm ashamed of it.

A small 8 ounce bag of each seems to work perfect.

Can you make it and then freeze it?
Mary
I have not tried to freeze it. However, I do freeze chocolate all the time so I don't see why you couldn't. I would wrap each piece individually in saran wrap and store in a freezer bag for up to 6 months.

I made it and it was great. I added extra tequila and silver sugar. Awesome. Book club will be surprised!!
Thanks
Mary
Extra tequila for the win! 🙂

I followed directions and the chocolate seized up. Does Lime juice and tequila need to be after chocolate is melted.
Mary
Some have had issues with the chocolate seizing up. You can melt the white chocolate melts and let it cool before adding the tequila. You may need to add a little more tequila than called for also.
