Water Game Teaches Kids About Water
I love games that teach things. And that's exactly what you get with the Water Game from Adventerra Games. Joining our Giving Christmas Away Event, this game is especially important because kids need to learn how to conserve water.
If they don't understand how water gets wasted, then they don't know how to conserve it. The blue cards asks questions, the green cards tell you how to conserve water and the orange cards show you how you waste water.
How to Play
You start out by each player receiving a colored movement token, and a round water indicator disk of the same color. Start with your movement tokens at the starting point and your water indicator disk on a cistern number.
Shuffle the different colored decks and place them face down in the center. You decide who starts by rolling the die. The one with the highest number starts and you proceed clockwise.
As you move along the river, you pick up a card of the color indicated on the spot you land on. Do as the card says and move forward or backward depending on if you saved water or wasted water.
If you get a question mark, pick a blue card and ask the player next to you to read it to you. You have 10 seconds to answer the question.
Who Wins the Water Game
The game ends when all players have reached the mouth of the river. After all players have arrived, the one with the most water wins.
However, if one or more players arrive at the mouth of the river with less than 10 gallons of water....everyone loses. 🙁
But in the end, the real winners are the ones that save water everyday in their real lives!
The Water Game is made for 3-4 players, ages 7 and up. It normally takes around 20-40 minutes to complete the game. The game is based on 4th grade science standards.
