With the kids home everyday now, breakfast can be a bit tedious. Start the day with a new recipe of Cinnamon French Toast Roll-ups. They are easy to make and since most kids don’t like the crust, these are the perfect solution. French toast filled with a cinnamon mixture, fried to a golden brown and topped with a cream cheese drizzle.

Cinnamon Roll French Toast Ingredients

  • Bread, crusts trimmed
  • Butter
  • Brown sugar
  • Cinnamon powder
  • White sugar
  • Eggs
  • Cream or milk

Cream Cheese Drizzle Ingredients

  • Unsalted butter
  • Cream cheese
  • Powdered sugar
  • Vanilla extract

How to Make French Toast Wraps

1. Cinnamon sugar coating, combine 1 Tablespoon of the cinnamon and the white sugar in a small bowl and set aside.
 
2. Combine the eggs, cream and 1 Tablespoon of the cinnamon for the french toast batter and set aside.
 
3. For the cinnamon filling, combine the butter, brown sugar and remaining cinnamon in a separate bowl and set aside.

4. Press each slice of bread until flat and then spread a generous half Tablespoon of the cinnamon filling on the bread.

5. Roll the bread slice short end to short end.
 
6. Repeat with all slices of bread, using up all of the cinnamon filling.
 
7. Heat a frying pan over medium heat with a bit of butter or oil.
 
8. Dip each roll into the french toast batter and place 4-6 at a time in the frying pan, turning after 2 minutes to cook each side.

9. Meanwhile, whip up the cream cheese drizzle by combining the butter, cream cheese, sugar and vanilla until completely incorporated.
 
10. Remove to a plate and repeat with all remaining rolls.
 
11. Roll in the cinnamon-sugar coating (or sprinkle it overtop) and then drizzle the cream cheese overtop.
 
**Note – You can also fill these with sausage, bacon, nutella, bananas, strawberries, and even peanut butter if you would like.

  • 4 Tablespoons each of brown sugar and cinnamon powder
  • 1 Tablespoon white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • Cream or milk - 2 Tablespoons

  • 1 Tablespoon unsalted butter
  • Cream cheese - 4 Tablespoons
  • 2 Tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
