Little Mermaid Oreo Cookies Recipe
Just like Mermaid Cupcakes, The Little Mermaid Oreo Cookies Recipe are almost too pretty to eat. I love the tiny seashells and starfish. Perfect for a magical Disney mermaid celebration. I can't believe that those are Oreo cookies underneath all that gorgeous artwork. You take a delicious Oreo cookie, drench it in chocolate, and then decorate them! What’s not to love?
Makes 24 Oreos
Mermaid Chocolate Covered Oreos Ingredients
- Double stuffed Oreos
- White chocolate melting wafers
- Wax paper
- Cookie sheet
- Two small pots
or Double Boiler
- Silicon seashell fondant mold
- White fondant
- Gold spray
- Pink spray
- Purple and teal food gel
- Rubber gloves
- Powder sugar
- Pink large pearl candy
- Light blue pearl candy
- Purple pearl candy
- Brown sugar
- Paint brush
to dust powder sugar
Directions for Under the Sea Oreo Cookies Fondant
You can purchase a silicone Oreo container specially made for making chocolate covered Oreos if you'd like.
MAKE FONDANT PIECES A DAY BEFORE
1. Grab a palm size amount of fondant and knead it until soft in your hand.
2. Coat the fondant mold with a light dusting of powder sugar so that the fondant wont stick.
3. Take a little pinch of the fondant and mold it into the shape that you want.
4. Wait a minute before pushing out the fondant piece. Place onto a paper towel
.
5. Using the gold spray
, spray the fondant pieces lightly until you get the desired gold shade you like. Repeat with the pink spray
.
6. Once done spraying with the pink spray, add some gold to give it a shine.
7. Using more fondant and the gloves, add 1 drop of purple
or teal to the fondant and knead in your hands till the fondant is completely dyed and theres no wet dye left. Repeat process with other color.
8. Dust the mat again with the powder sugar and mold.
9. Once you have all the pieces you want spray the teal and purple pieces with gold to give it a shine. Set aside till the next day.

How to Decorate Chocolate Covered Oreos
1. Fill ¼ of the double boiler
with water and place on medium heat.
2. Place the second pot on top for a few minutes to get hot.
3. Add half a bag of white melts
into the top pot and mix until melted.

4. Dip in your Oreo until fully coated.

5. Using a fork, pick up the Oreo from the bottom and lightly tap the edge of the pot so extra chocolate can fall off.
7. Once dry, dip the top of the Oreo into the chocolate and then dip into the brown sugar.

8. Grab a fondant piece and place standing up into the brown sugar.

9. Continue decorating the Oreos how ever you like.
