    Makes 10

    4 Ingredient Nutella Powdered Donuts

    • Biscuits - I normally choose Pillsbury regular biscuits to make these with. I have used Pillsbury Grands before and they come out just as good. However, regular biscuits are a tad smaller and make for a better donut.
    • Powdered Sugar - This is normally what I use to top them with. But you can change it up and use cinnamon sugar, a chocolate glaze, or a powdered sugar glaze if you would like.
    • Nutella - Grab your favorite brand of Nutella to fill these delicious beauties with or choose from another option as listed below.
    • Frying Oil - Choose your favorite oil to deep fry in from the choices below.
    • For exact amounts, please see the recipe card below.
    nutella filled donuts recipe

Note: you will need approximately 4 cups of oil to fry the donuts, but the amount will differ based on the size of your dutch oven or whatever you are using to fry them. You want at least 3-4" of depth.

    Supplies Needed

    • Dutch Oven - A dutch oven is a heavy pot with a tight-fitting lid that's perfect for braising and stewing. It can also be used for baking bread or cakes. Because of its thick walls, the dutch oven retains heat well and cooks food evenly.
    • Sifter - A sifter is a kitchen tool that's used to mix and evenly distribute dry ingredients. By using a sifter, your recipes will turn out better than ever before!
    • Donut Flipper - Unlike its counterpart, the colander, a wire strainer pasta strainer has small holes that allow for the passage of liquid while keeping larger particles – like pasta – at bay.
    • Candy Thermometer - A candy thermometer is a great tool to have in your kitchen. It's used to measure the temperature of sugar-based foods as they cook. This helps you make sure that your food reaches the correct temperature and doesn't get too hot or too cold. Having a candy thermometer can help ensure that your food is cooked correctly every time!
    • Wire Cooling Rack - From roasting meats to baking cookies, a wire cooking rack can be used for many different tasks in the kitchen.
    • Piping Bag and Tip - Have you ever wondered what piping bags are used for? They're not just for cake decorating! In fact, they have a variety of uses in the kitchen. From filling and shaping cakes to creating beautiful designs with icing, there are many ways you can use piping bags in your cooking. Happy cooking! 🙂

    Nutella Donuts Filling Variations

These can be filled with a variety of fillings. Whether you are in the mood for Boston cream, bavarian cream, chocolate ganache filling, or just jelly, the best part is that you can change each and every one of them.

With 10 donuts to fill, fill two with each of your favorite fillings. I have even used a standard vanilla pudding inside of them when someone ate all the Nutella and did not tell me. 🙄

What Type of Oil Should I Use

It really is totally up to you. If someone is allergic to peanuts, then obviously you won't choose peanut oil.

You can use peanut, canola, or vegetable oil. The Price of oil has greatly increased lately.

I normally purchase whatever is on sale and stock up when it is.

Can I Air Fry Nutella Filled Donuts

You sure can. Just as we made the Air Fryer Donut Bites recipe, these can also be made in the Air Fryer

Place the biscuit pieces in a single layer in the basket of the air fryer. Brush lightly with vegetable oil.

Air Fry for about 5 minutes at 360°.  Watch carefully since every air fryer is different.

Flip and fry for about another 4 minutes.

When finished, let cool for a few minutes and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

    Do I Refrigerate Opened Nutella

Absolutely not! Refrigerating it would be something my mother would have done. lol

She refrigerated maple syrup, peanut butter, ketchup, and everything in between.

I did with the first jar I opened (because I am my mother's daughter) and it turned so hard that I couldn't even get a spoon in it.

Can I Make These From Scratch

Sure if that's what you prefer. I'm not a fan of working with yeast, however, if you have an old-school donut recipe from your grandmother, go right ahead.

Deep fry them, fill them and powder them and enjoy!

Stretch each biscuit to make it wider and bigger, by at least ½" but up to 1".

Once the oil is hot, fry each donut individually for about 1 minute per side, until golden brown.

    Flip with a donut flipper.

Set each fried donut on the wire cooling rack to allow excess oil to drip off.

Once all donuts have been fried, turn off the heat for the oil.
