This recipe uses the same concept as traditional dump cake (pie filling on the bottom, cake mix on top), but it takes a little more prep work than simply dumping the ingredients in the pan.

How to Make Cake Mix Pumpkin Bars
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9x13 pan with nonstick cooking spray.
Whisk together the cake mix, pumpkin puree, and eggs until smooth.

Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared cake pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the cake springs back when touched.

Allow the cake bars to cool completely.

Then spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the top.

Garnish with pumpkin spice and/or chopped pecans if desired.

Cut into squares before serving.
