Walt Disney World Transportation Systems for Parks and Resorts

Before you rent a car in Orlando and incur all kinds of parking fees, Make sure you study the basics of Walt Disney World Transportation. Although the resort is vast, Walt Disney World offers complimentary transportation on property. You don't even need to be a guest at the Disney hotels to enjoy this convenience, But being a guest does have the added perk of free transportation from the airport and back again. Read this must-know list of Walt Disney World transportation so you can plan more effectively and have a more enjoyable time.

    Buses

Your first complimentary bus experience will likely be the Magical Express motorcoach you take from the Orlando airport. Disney manages your checked luggage behind the scenes, so you do not need to stop at Baggage Claim.

While in Walt disney World, you will find bus transportation handy. The buses keep a regular schedule and travel to all Disney parks and resorts, including Disney Springs. Although Disney Springs does not offer direct service to any of the Disney parks, you can quickly transfer at the resort stations, which are marked well and have electronically posted schedules.

The buses offer continuous transportation from 45 minutes before park opening until 2 hours after the parks have closed. For a complete bus schedule, refer to your My disney Experience app.

    Monorails

As the flagship park of Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom is accessible by boat, bus, and Monorail. The park presides over the Seven Seas Lagoon and the parking lot is actually across the lagoon along with the Ticket and Transportation Center. From there you can take the Monorail to the Magic Kingdom, or Epcot. Around the Lagoon are the Contemporary, the Polynesian Village, and the Grand Floridian. Each of these deluxe resorts has a monorail station.

This 5 day Disney World plan is designed to structure the broad strokes of your Walt Disney World schedule so you can fill in the rest.

    Walt Disney World Transportation Boats

Seven Seas Lagoon also offers transportation from the resorts by boat. There is a ferry that transports guests from the Ticket and Transportation center. The Ferry has a larger capacity than the monorail, but it is not as fast and takes longer to load and unload.

Bay Lake is a connecting body of water with docks at Bay Tower, Wilderness Lodge, and Fort Wilderness. There are boats to the Magic Kingdom from these resorts and also a route that connects all three. During the day the rotation of the resort boats reverses direction, so check your schedule for current information.

Friendships travel from the International Gateway at Epcot to Hollywood Studios with docks along the way in Crescent Lake. The stops here are the Boardwalk Inn, Yacht Club, and the Swan and Dolphin.

To the East, disney Springs rests on a body of water that leads to the Sassagoula River. Along which are The Port Orleans resorts, Saratoga Springs, and Old Key West. These resorts include scenic river transportation via water taxi to the docks along disney Springs. The Westside, the Landing and the Marketplace all have docking areas across disney Springs for water travel within the destination and to the resorts mentioned above.

    Disney Skyliner

Opening in the Fall, disney Skyliner will offer transportation between Pop Century/Art of Animation and Epcot. Other stops include Hollywood Studios, Caribbean Beach, and the Riviera. The gondola suspension system uses ventilated, accessible gondolas wrapped in themed character designs. They travel at a top speed of 11 mph and slow to 1 mph in the stations.

Anticipation is building for the new #WaltDisneyWorld Gondolas and I have all the info on when you can start riding them!
